Welcome to Rentr. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “you”, or “your”) and Rentr (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By creating an account, accessing, or using Rentr, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.
1. Account Eligibility and Security
1.1 Registration Requirements
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding agreements to use Rentr.
By registering you confirm that:

the information you provide is accurate and complete

you are registering under your real identity

you will update your details when they change
Impersonation or use of false information is prohibited.
1.2 Account Security
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
You agree to:

keep your password confidential

notify Rentr immediately if you suspect unauthorized access

accept responsibility for all activity under your account
Rentr is not responsible for losses caused by failure to protect your login credentials.
1.3 Agent Verification
Agents using the platform must complete an identity verification process.
Verification may require submission of:

National Registration Card (NRC)
-
contact information
-
professional credentials if available
Verification confirms identity only. It does not confirm professional qualifications, licensing, or service quality.
Verification documents may be reviewed for authenticity and removed from active systems once verification is complete.
2. Listings, Content and User Responsibility
2.1 Listing Accuracy
Agents and landlords are fully responsible for all property listings posted on the platform.
By posting a listing you confirm that:

you have authority from the property owner to advertise the property
-
the information, photos, and pricing are accurate
-
the property complies with applicable laws and regulations
-
you will remove or update the listing once the property is no longer available
Rentr may remove listings that violate these Terms or reduce platform quality.
2.2 Tenant Due Diligence
Rentr acts only as a connection platform between tenants, agents, and landlords.
Tenants must take reasonable steps to verify listings before making commitments.
Tenants should:

inspect properties in person before signing agreements
-
confirm the identity of agents or landlords
-
avoid sending money before viewing the property
Rentr is not responsible for financial loss resulting from scams, fraudulent listings, or user misconduct.
2.3 Disputes Between Users
Rentr is not a party to rental agreements between users.
All agreements, negotiations, and payments occur directly between:

tenants
-
agents
-
landlords
Any dispute related to rent, deposits, contracts, or property condition must be resolved between the involved parties.
You release Rentr from claims or damages arising from such disputes.
3. Agent Registration and Professional Responsibility
Agents using the platform must comply with applicable real estate laws and professional requirements in Zambia.
Where required by law, agents must hold valid membership or registration with the Zambia Institute of Estate Agents.
By registering or continuing to use the platform as an agent, you confirm that:

any membership information you provide is accurate
-
you are responsible for maintaining valid registration
-
you will update or remove your account if your membership expires, is suspended, or revoked
Rentr does not verify or monitor professional registration status.
4. Agent Liability Waiver
Agents accept full responsibility for their professional status and regulatory compliance.
By using the platform as an agent you agree that:

you are solely responsible for maintaining valid professional registration
-
you assume responsibility for operating as an agent on the platform
-
Rentr is not liable if you operate without valid professional registration
You agree to indemnify and hold Rentr harmless from claims, penalties, damages, or regulatory actions arising from:

expired or invalid registration
-
misrepresentation of qualifications
-
failure to comply with real estate laws
5. Fees and Payments
5.1 Platform Fees
Rentr may charge fees for certain services including:
- view listing full details

featured listings
-
promotional placements
All fees paid to Rentr are non-refundable.
5.2 Third-Party Payments
Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers.
Rentr does not store full payment card details or personal PINs.
Rentr is not responsible for payment failures or delays caused by external providers.
5.3 Rent Payments
Rentr does not collect rent on behalf of landlords.
Rental payments are handled directly between tenants and landlords unless otherwise stated in the application.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes.
You must not:

post fake or misleading property listings
-
impersonate another person
-
harass or threaten other users
-
attempt to hack, disrupt, or overload the platform
-
use bots or automated tools to scrape platform data
-
use the platform to promote unrelated services
Violation of these rules may result in account suspension or permanent removal or legal action.
7. Privacy and Data
Rentr collects certain information including contact details, usage data, and device information in order to operate the service.
Location information may be used to provide location-based search results.

8. Third-Party Services
The platform may connect to external services such as map providers or payment gateways.
These services operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
Rentr is not responsible for the content or operation of third-party services.
10. Service Availability
The platform is provided on an “as available” basis.
Rentr does not guarantee that the service will always be uninterrupted, secure, or error free.
Features may change or be removed at any time.
10.1 Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Rentr and its affiliates are not liable for:

indirect or consequential damages
-
loss of profits, data, or goodwill
-
financial losses resulting from transactions between users
Total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount paid by you to Rentr in the six months before the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rentr and its officers from claims, damages, liabilities, or legal costs arising from:

your use of the platform
-
your violation of these Terms
-
violation of the rights of another party
12. Termination
Rentr may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or misuse the platform.
Users may stop using the platform at any time by deleting their account.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zambia.
Any legal proceedings related to these Terms must be filed in the courts of Zambia.
14. Changes to These Terms
Rentr may update these Terms from time to time.
If significant changes occur, users may be notified through the application or by email.
Continued use of the platform after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
